CURRENT PROJECTS

PLACE NAME PROJECT: A committee from the Great John Mathis Foundation is working on a list of Bass River Township current and past place names with descriptions and gps coordinates. My history buddy and gps aficionado, John Yates, has put up a web site with the names we currently have on the list and a map showing the locations of a few sites that we have gps coordinates for. You can add places names and/or gps coordinate locations to our list at John's site listed below:

GO TO JOHN'S BASS RIVER PLACE NAMES' WEB SITE.

OBITUARIES PROJECT: This is an ongoing project. Shirley Whealton and I are continuing to scan and enter Bass River, Tuckerton, and Little Egg Harbor related obituries in a data base for easy retrieval. We now have over 4500 obituries scanned and cataloged on a database. Send us an email if you are looking for an area obituary. We may have it.

Many pages on this site must have Adobe Reader to display. You can download Adobe Reader here . . . DOWNLOAD ADOBE READER. It's free!

The BASS RIVER HISTORY HOMEPAGE and associated links are maintained by Peter H. Stemmer. You may get in contact with Pete by clicking here . . . EMAIL PETE

A special thank you to Shirley and Leslie Whealton who graciously provided the Census Indexes and other content on this site.
